Nanaimo, Parksville + Qualicum Beach| Bump to Baby Newborn Session

This little guy came to see us recently and I’m speechless because I feel like his squishy cuteness speaks for itself.

Slept like a champ! His parents are on our Bump to Baby Package which means we get to see him again at his cake smash! Bump to Baby clients get a maternity session, a newborn session and a cake smash at a reduced session fee. This is an awesome way to document your first year together. Sometimes parents trade in the maternity session for a sitter session which means we start seeing their baby at newborn age, around 6-8 months for a milestone session and for their cake smash.

In the above image, we’re using a beautifully made baby blanket from Modest Maverick to rest the baby on in the crate. Shopping locally and selecting items for my prop closet that are unique results in images that are one-of-a-kind art pieces for clients.

The prop sets created for this session went on Instagram in the Behind The Scene (BTS) highlight reel. I love sharing the before pictures and then the final images because newborn photography isn’t just about having something cute for the baby to wear or rest in. It is about safety above everything else and baby’s comfort. Knowing how to transition a baby safely from props and into poses is so important. Proper training and dedication to continued learning is a big part of what to look for when hiring a newborn photographer.
